>> yes, there you go. we're still above average today, though. storm tracker6 live double scan has been showing us that we're dry so far. the wide view on satellite and you can see some rain out in central pennsylvania that's trying to push in our direction. it looks like most of these little sprinkles and lighter showers will probably hold off until later this morning or perhaps this evening. if you're in southern delaware cape may county there's a chance you'll see something before then. 67 in philadelphia, 70 cape may, 64 at the airport in atlantic city. 66 in trenton and 60 degrees on the nose in allentown. it will still be warm this afternoon but not as warm. 72 degrees by noon. mostly cloudy skies overall. and by 3 o'clock, 73. that's coming down from a high of 75. we think we're going to spike at 75 fairly early around 1:30 or 2 o'clock today and as showers develop clouds get thicker, we'll probably see the numbers dip a bit. if you're dressing the kids for school this morning no problem. temperatures will be ranging from the upper 50's to the mid 60's across the region this

morning. clouds maybe some sunny breaks in some spots but by this afternoon, karen, there is the chance of a shower so maybe they should have that water resistant fantastic rain gear in the book bag for the walk home. >> all right, dave. let's start this day. we're day. we're going to look outside live at the schuylkill. the schuylkill is reopened. it was shut down at 30th street because of construction. as we look live at south street the overnight construction has cleared, traffic is moving nicely but crews will return again tonight at 9 o'clock and restrict some traffic right there and we're going to watch for that. on the big picture here schuylkill eastbound between the conshohocken curve and the city avenue, we had construction and that has cleared as well. that time of the morning the crews are wrapping up, they're going home so look for that to look a little better. i-95 near 320 construction is clear here as well so i-95 really moving nicely. no delays out there. we do have a problem in towamencin, though. look for this.

an accident here that's on sumneytown pike at rice road. crews are on the scene here. they're blocking the left lane of the northeast extension with construction. but we can see speeds like 64 miles an hour so you're moving okay matt. >> thank you, karen. a death investigation in bear, delaware. we have learned that police discovered two people dead inside a home in the waterford mobile home community on the 500 block of vincent lane. this was the scene last night as dozens of investigators were there collecting evidence. police have not released details on how or when the man and woman may have died. also breaking, gunshots erupted in the city's point breeze section injuring three people. police on patrol in the neighborhood heard the shooting just before 1:00 this morning. they found a 33-year-old man shot in the knee and a 49-year-old man shot in the legs along the 1900 block of south bonsall street. police also say a 65-year-old man who was a bystander was shot in the ankle. investigators are trying to determine who was the intended

target. a police review of surveillance video shows two people running from the scene. we'll have a live report coming up in the next half hour. >> now, this is the scene in california. an area known for its relaxed upscale tastes and hills covered in vineyards. instead it looks like this right now. massive wildfires are sweeping through the state. more than 20,000 people have been forced to evacuate. when they come back many will return to nothing. entire neighborhoods are gone charred debris all that remains. fire crews continue to try to finally get an upper hand on what's being called one of the deadliest and most destructive wildfires in california history. "action news" reporter katherine scott is live in our satellite center with a closer look at the destruction. so many people love this part of the country, katherine, and it is painful to see. >> reporter: it absolutely is, tam. at least 17 people have died, nearly 200 are still reported missing in what could turn out

to be one of the worst disasters in california's history. massive wildfires in california. strong winds have fueled intense flames across multiple counties sweeping across 115,000 acres of land stretching manpower thin. >> we have folks on the fire line starting their third shift right now that have not been relieved. >> reporter: from california tuesday vice president mike pence declared a major disaster declaration for the state which now allows the federal government to provide more assistance. the fires were sparked on sunday, they quickly exploded in size leaving little time to evacuate. >> this was the kitchen. >> reporter: entire neighborhoods across sonoma county decimated. nancy cook returned to the place where her home once stood to see what she could salvage. >> we got out without anything except for our dogs, medicine. >> reporter: chris pine was grief stricken frantically searching for her most valuable possessions. >> my wedding ring. >> reporter: at least 2,000

homes and businesses like this winery destroyed. there are a growing number of confirmed fatalities like charles and sara ripe who had been married for 75 years. their son, sifted through the rubble. >> my father he never made it to her room and even if he had made it, there was no way he was going to leave her. >> reporter: and they're still working on the fire fights right now. the cause of this fire remains under investigation. we are live in the satellite center, katherine scott, channel6 "action news. tam. >> okay, katherine thank you for that. it is 5:06 and nearly three weeks after hurricane maria there is still a medical crisis unfolding in puerto rico. officials now say 45 people have died as a result of the storm and more than a hundred people are still unaccounted for. there's also a growing concern about bacteria. the the latest two deaths were caused by back tear.

maria was the first category four almost a five to directly impact the island in 85 years. >> two people along the jersey shore are behind bars accused of selling supplies needed to make improvised devices like pipe bombs. atlantic city police arrested danielle demers and 31-year-old nina house. undercover agents say they were able to purchase a rifle ammunition and the makings of five pipe bombs from the two. however, police say there is not any evidence that the individuals are tied to terrorism. the amtrak train engineer involved in the deadly derailment in port richmond in 2015 could soon face charges again. pennsylvania attorney general josh shapiro is appealing a judge's decision to throw out criminal charges against brandon bostian. a philadelphia municipal court judge ruled last month that evidence against bostian pointed to the crash being an accident rather than a crime and tossed charges of involuntary manslaughter and

reckless endangerment. eight people were killed and 200 others were injured. >> david, it was really nice when the humidity came down yesterday. what can i expect today. >> today just a little bit muggy for october certainly but not as warm. we're going to stop in the 70's today. your exclusive look on storm tracker6 live double scan, got a lot of ground clutter by trenton. you see showers by harrisburg and a little sweeping into southern delaware by dover and kent county. it's possible some of you see a sprinkle this morning. looks like the bulk of that is going to be during the later morning and afternoon hours. as we look outside, we have sky6 and we are dry right now in center city. got some clouds out there, though and eventually we'll see some drizzle and a couple of showers around today. as we take a look at temperatures, we're at 67 degrees in philadelphia. same story in wilmington. just 60 up in allentown at this early hour, 63 in reading, 66 in trenton, 66 in millville and an even 70 in cape may, in much. future tracker6 showing that you the bulk of our rain, some of it already showing up down to the south in particular is

probably going to be during the afternoon hours. as we get into the later morning hours, a couple of you will see a little drizzle on the windshield or maybe a light shower and then the stuff we're going to see later today is fairly scattered fairly light overall, although the kids might want a little rain gear just in case they get caught in some of this. obviously it's not a lot of rain overall. by 6 o'clock some of you on the way home will see a bit of this and by 11 o'clock tonight most has shifted off to the north. there could be additional drizzle overnight tonight and into at least tomorrow morning. cloudy skies for the most part in the lehigh valley. can't totally rule out a peek of sunshine but a lot of clouds around and of course we're allowing for that passing sprinkle and shower and a high of 71. down the shore milder with a high of 75, mostly cloudy skies, though and the an occasional shower or sprinkle possible. and 75 is the high in philadelphia today. all of these highs are liable to hit kind of early in the day, say, 1:30, 2 o'clock and then the temperatures dip a little bit as the clouds get thicker and some of those showers pop up.

mostly cloudy skies without the showers, 75 degrees and occasionally it's a little damp. then later tonight lots of clouds, showers, maybe some drizzle late tonight and overnight. 60 degrees the overnight low. tomorrow cloudy and cooler, a high of 66 degrees, a little breezy as an area of low pressure comes by. we'll have circulation coming over that high back inland that will keep the clouds in place and maybe give us some occasional drizzle or another odd shower. tropical satellite shows tropical storm ophelia but look at how far away this one is. these are the leeward islands puerto rico, there's the east coast of the u.s. this one likely is just a fish storm but it's one that we'll keep our eyes on and that's the one active storm we've got right now. your seven-day from accuweather shows a high of 75 today, mostly cloudy with occasional sprinkles and showers as you just saw and a bit more of that tonight and into tomorrow. some drizzle at times on thursday, a high of 66. mostly cloudy friday, 69 degrees. and then we're right back up into the 80's for the weekend. saturday warmer, some sun, 80 degrees for that temple home game and 82 on sunday.

>> ♪ >> welcome back. taking a live look here the commodore barry bridge. it is 5:14 and 67 degrees here for you on your wednesday morning. >> not really foggy in that shot but i know there is some out there you're watching along with the traffic, karen. >> yeah, there's some. 10-mile visibility at philadelphia international airport so no big deal there. the situation here is 422 at 23. eastbound we had construction that was causing a big backup at one point they were blocking all lanes. the eastbound construction has cleared. westbound doesn't clear for almost another hour so 422 westbound you are going to be seeing some issues there as we look live near trooper heading towards king of prussia. eastbound is clear. westbound the right lane remains blocked for another hour. we're over here on 422 westbound at route 100 where it has reopened. it will close again tonight at

9 o'clock so you're going to see 422 westbound being shut down. in towamencin we had an accident this morning. it was kind of busy early on here. sumneytown pike at rice road that has cleared and construction has cleared so we're in the process of clearing things out for you. what more can i do for you on a wednesday morning. burlington bristol bridge the construction is clear and the traffic pattern is back to normal. here's that will visibility. a minute ago millville was down to 1 mile visibility. we're now up to three. everything else is good so no problems right there. storm tracker6 live 3-d showing we have rain moving in from the south and we can see some showers out to our west as well. so, it is going to be a day where we're going to feature some rain today and you're going to watch for that any time late this morning into the afternoon. currently it's 58 degrees in quakertown and pottstown, 67 in the city. 63 in hammonton and 69 in dover. today will not be as warm. we had four straight days in the 80's. today we're down to 75 degrees, still well above

average matt. >> thanks karen. the u.s. military flew two super sonic bombers over the korean peninsula in a show of force last night. this comes as president trump meets with a top defense official to discuss how top to respond to the country's continued provocations and threats. while the pentagon has yet top respond to reports korean hackers may have stole classified plans from south korea. the plans included a joint effort with the u.s. to kill north korean leader kim jong un. >> the salt lake city police officer involved in the controversial and aggressive arrest of a nurse this summer has been fired. veteran detective jeff payne pain was fired after an investigation showed he violated departmental policy by roughly handcuffing nurse alex wubbles. wubbles was refusing to allow the detective to draw blood from a patient because he didn't have a warrant. police apologized and changed their policy weeks after that july incident that turned into a viral video.

the nfl will address player protest. in a letter commissioner roger goodell sent to all 32 teams he made it clear that he believes "that everyone should stand for the national anthem. ." however, he did not elaborate on how the league might change the existing policy. the nfl's anthem policy now states that players should stand for the anthem but they are not required to do so. >> the flyers wrapped up their season opening road trip in nashville. they overcame a three to nothing deficit against the predators scoring five straight goals but the wheels came off the cart from there. the flyers surrendered two goals in the game's final 77 seconds losing six to five. this is a disaster. next year's world cup will not include the united states. the u.s. men's national team was eliminated in their final qualifying match against trinidad and tobago. it's the first time the

>> an off duty new jersey state trooper risked his life to save a couple inside a crashed and burning z it happened on the atlantic city expressway near egg harbor township. sergeant james mitchell says he was driving to work when he saw the nissan pathfinder striking a concrete barrier in the center median then bursting into flames. trooper mitchell first helped the driver get out of the vehicle then grabbed a woman sitting in the front seat and pulled her through the window. >> i'm glad i was there, you know. i'm sure anybody else would have stopped, too, but i happened to be there at the right time and i was able to pull her out. >> thanks to the trooper, the driver was not hurt. the woman is recovering in the hospital. >> talk about angels. >> thank you so much to everyone who serves especially that trooper. let's take a look right now
